:)
Well I bought my 2nd horsey book. I've been reading it too so now I have two books on the go. I really need to alocate more time to actually get into reading them both, then ill go through the conformation book and write down reference notes here so i can look back and review what i'm teaching myself.

The 2nd book is about keeping horses on small acerage, it has plans on how to build stables, round yards areanas etc and what to look for when buying a property. We are hoping for 2 acres with our first home. If we cannot find that we will buy a small house and live there, pay it off some then rent it out and buy another house, things may be hard when we first get back especially if geoff doesnt get a transfer with his comapny :/ I'm a little worried about that.

Geoff will talk to his work in November to find out about a transfer, if all that goes well I can purchase a horse whenever i want, if not i'll have to wait until he has gotten a job, around the time we leave here i find out about university, so we'll see what happens, if i dont get in i'll get a job and apply for other subjects to try to get my credits up.

I want to buy a number of other books on horse ownership, I can confidently say I know enough to keep a horse as I completely cared for my horses when i was a teenager, I mixed their own grain and took care of all health concerns, i exercized them etc etc. I want to gain more knowledge though, especially about feeding and natural horsemanship.

LAte last week I got a sale DVD from one of Australias top Arabian studs King Estate International, their horses are so beautiful. I wish I had more cash to spend, there is an especially lovely stallion who moves so beautifully he leaves me breathless. The horse I enquired about is not on the DVD though, he is a 3 year old gelding who is just being started under saddle. I've had my eye on him for a while also. His price is going up soon though since he has started his saddle education. I told the seller i'll visit him when i get back to Australia if he is still for sale they have an open house in February i'd like to visit.

Geoff thinks i'm jumping the gun looking at horses, but I see it this way,... It may take me months to find an ideal horse, I've seen only 2 horses in my price range i'd consider buying. That isnt many considering the amount of horses in Australia. I'm extremely picky. I really want a Chestnut with white socks and face markings, arabian with good conformation. I've always wanted a horse with socks, and I have no idea why, i just like them. There are lots of chestnuts with white markings but they are either way overpriced, or their conformation isn't ideal to me. I know its silly wanting a horse to have markings but i think its important to really adore what your horse looks like. I also like greys so i'm open to that option also. I'd like crabbet breeding somewhere in there too (FireDance has that) but if not thats ok.

Ok enough blabbering, I should go lay down with one of my books :)

Soon it will be time to start a list of horsey items i'm going to need ~Squeeeeeeeeee~ Geoff actually suggested I start on that :)

I'm getting damn excited! Less than 4 months until we leave canada. Holy crap!

:)

wow thats alot of money right there mate.

Gypsy vanners are so expensive

I want a friesian but $20,000 for a horse right now is out of the question.

We are going to build a stable too, bu it will be small at first, couple of acres and a small stable maybe 2 who knows :) depends what we can afford
